We
are good, but not as good as we actually can be. There is plenty of
room for improvement. Life is meaningless if we think there is
nothing further to learn. If we want a meaningful life, we must never
ever stop learning.
We
can begin by learning about ourselves. Recognize our
shortcomings. Be brutally honest.
ASK: What is it that is lacking within me? What
can I do to improve it?
There is a vast difference
between how we view ourselves and how others see us. Try to look at self
with the eyes of an outsider.
We
must make a list of our weak points, even though this will not be easy task. Then
we should work consciously to turn our each and every weakness into
strength. Try to revisit the list a few weeks later and take note of
the improvement we have made. We must give ourselves the due credit for
it and feel good about the progress we are making.
We
should always be thankful to our critics. Always be grateful for
their feedback, even though it may be unsolicited. Look at it as a
freebie. Our critics will make us push ourselves even harder. Isn't
it true that we always remember those teachers who were tough on us in our school?
Do
not think that we are a failure if there are many faults, which we have
identified within ourselves. Do congratulate yourself. We are
succeeding. We are a failure only if we stop failing. When
we stop failing it become obvious that we are not trying any more. We have
given up on ourselves.
We
are a work in progress. We have not yet realized our full potential.
Keep
it ongoing, always!
